Seeing a need for local news to be published by someone who knows and lives in the community, Lynne Campbell found herself in a unique position to fill that need.
What started as a small, free newsletter has now turned into an operation that reaches across the U.S. Lynne used her experience in the newspaper industry - leaving a corporate news service as a Regional Publisher - to branch out and create something different (yet still so familiar). The subscription-based Community News Brief is now in circulation beyond Illinois' borders, with the mid-week Brief still landing in local businesses for free distribution.
But wait - there's more! With a storefront to manage her operations, she opened up the Community Market to local artisans. Providing a space for creators to sell their items, you can purchase art and creations of all kinds - including those of former CEO students!
We are so thankful for Lynne's investment in the local community, which includes the McDonough County CEO Program. Additionally, she gives a portion of the proceeds from her "Hometown Tees" line to be used in support of student needs - and presented us with a check recently. Thank you, Lynne, for all that you do!
