Gain as much experience as possible, be a team player, and always do your best.

These are just a few keys to success shared by Jock Hedblade, Executive Director of the Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.

In his mission to encourage people to Visit Unforgettable Forgottonia, Jock has taken some unique aspects of our town & region and utilized them for tourism. As one of the biggest revenue generating industries in the country, tourism isn’t just for the big cities!

We learned a lot more about Lizzie Magie’s ties to Macomb (creator of what would become today’s Monopoly game) and a little more about President Lincoln’s time in our county seat. Jock talked about setting goals, pursuing leads, and what it meant to come back to his hometown after a significant career and life in Chicago. Thanks to Jock for the time, stories, and wisdom shared with our team last week!
