Agriculture is the number one industry in the state of Illinois. Generating $19B to the economy from commodity sales alone, it's no surprise that 1 in 17 jobs are related to food and agriculture.

While we may often take this industry for granted, given the miles of corn & bean fields we drive by every day, we also recognize that we can always learn more about the business of agriculture.

Last week, John & Holly Spangler welcomed us to their family farm for a glimpse at their livelihood. We were welcomed into their kitchen with warm cinnamon rolls and conversation. We ventured to the farm site where we saw the operation's facilities, equipment, and livestock. They shared as much as they could in our 90-minute session, taking time from harvest operations to give the team a first-hand account of a farmer's priorities.

With two CEO alums in the family and Holly's service on our Board of Directors, we sure appreciate Spangler Family's hospitality, support, and continued financial investment in the CEO Program. Thanks to Holly & John for having us out for this annual site visit!
